TIPS GIVEN BY CORPORATE LIM

We have managed to get Cpl Lim's view on how we can prevent vandalism in the neighbourship. Here are his tips:

1) We should get to know our neighbours, knowing the people around us and our community is essential as it will be easier to spot strangers that doesn't belong in the neighbourhood.

2)
We can also form a community association or neighborhood watch program. It is impossible to fight vandalism on our own, so it is a must to engage our neighbours and other people to join our community and engage in the battle. This will create a interest for us and also provide an opportunity for us to get to know each other.

3) Talk to neighbours if anyone of u see anything suspicious or anyone behaving sneakily. Even if it's nothing, talking to one another allows them to see that you are concerned and eventually they will do the same thing as well.

MR POH HU LI's statement

He happened to witnessed one incident just only last week when one small schoolboy was beaten up by 4 other older boys. The incident took place at the void deck of Blk 428. The gang ran away from the scene as soon as i approached them.  Mr Poh is very worried and he felt that we should cover this news as well as teenagers nowadays are getting out of hand.

MR VIJAYA's statement

Hello residents, I am Mr Vejaya and I live on Vic Street too. I am married and have 2 kids. I witnessed a similar incident of car vandalism last year too.

I was walking home one night and as I was heading towards my flat on the 6th floor, I noticed that there were 3 teenagers at the multi-story car park opposite my flat. They were using spray paint to vandalise the cars. These 3 teenagers were malay and were all dressed in black with their hair dyed blonde.

They were also using kitchen knives to scratch the car. But before I could call the police, they ran off. Probably being scared off when they heard a car driving up into the car park.

As a resident, I am rather worried about the teenagers in our neighbourhood. They seem to be content in doing such disgusting and inconsiderate acts. I do hope that my children will not be influenced in such a way and grow up to be responsible citizens.

MISS LOO TALK ALOT's statement

She was very unlucky as her beloved "black beauty" was vandalised. She still remember her car was still in perfectly good condition the night before, and for the period of one night, it was "disfigured". Her car was parked under her block, the usual place but the next day it was already splashed with paint. She's very upset about it, and hope that the suspect would be caught soon.

CRIME RATES IN VIC STREET ARE ON THE RISE

Many of our neighbours are complaining about the issues of vandalism, robberies and shoplifting. It is time for us to work hand in hand and maintain PEACE for our neighbourhood so as to detect and prevent more crimes from happening!

Just only recently, a case of vandalism has happened.

Yo,
Last nite was parking car at Blk 10 level 3 multi-storey carpark, and this is what I saw! I cannot believe it, so terrible of people to do such things to another’s car, no respect what so ever. See the pictures I attached? All these cars are sprayed with paint and scratched, my god! Hope you can forward this email to all our neighbours to warn them that vandals are around and making trouble for us!! &*#^$% one!
Hope everyone can be on the lookout for each other and inform suspicious characters in our neighbourhoods. Oh yah, you know that policeman Pete right? Maybe you can check with him on any tips for us when parking our cars?
PS: Check out the crime-prevention posters I snapped last week, you think they work meh?

and this is some of the pictures that was taken, CAR VANDALISM

**I also witnessed the scene about 2 months ago but I was too afraid to voice out my thoughts, come to think of it I should have report to the police straightaway. I still remember that day I was walking home from school, and wanted to go to the nearest minimart to buy greentea as I was very thirsty.

And I saw this guy behaving sneakily around the neighbourhood carpark, I sensed something was wrong and continue to observe him. After 5minutes later, I actually saw him holding a tin of paint and splashed onto a black car! I was really shocked and I walked away with fear. I still remember vividly that this guy is about 178-180cm. He was very skinny and fair, with thick moustache, wearing black polo tee and dark blue jeans.**

There's other victims that saw this as well.(in the other posts) AND THERE'S NOT ONLY CAR VANDALISM AND EVEN GANG FIGHT.
